ok...the whole deal with my hard-drive crapping out has questioning the reliability of the toshiba...ive only had the computer for about 7-8 months now and its already going bad...i never abused it...in fact it was like my baby...so there lies the question...whats the track record with toshiba? im thinking of going with something else once i get this one fixed...

im looking for something around my specs now...um i dont remember them and cant access them either...its an a55-s106

decent processor and atleast 512 ram...15 inch monitor...etc etc etc...

looking around 1000-1200 bucks...im kinda leery of buying used on ebay and such but might give it a try

Is it just your hard-drive that went out? If that is the case, then you can't really put all the blame on Toshiba. More than likely you jsut got a bad hard-drive, which is VERY common despite all the modern technology we have these days.

It's kind of like buying a new car which came with the cheapo OEM tires, and then you get a blow-out. You should be cursing the cheapo tire brand, not the entire car :P

well...maybe they should be using better quality parts...im not blaming them for it. im just asking what you guys think i should do...keep the toshiba or get a new one

toshibas are usually great quality and they are good with looking after their customers as 4w4k3 said its probs the harddrive

Then it should still be under warranty. You can get the problem fixed with no problems.
