I need a laptop for university, I will be using this laptop for alot of gaming, 3d graphics (maya) and alot of programming. Does this Laptop meet my needs? are there any laptops out there that you recommend?

go with a higher resolution screen for graphics. they should have an option for the 1920x1200 for $90 extra. if you carry this arround dont get glossy screen get the regular one so theres no reflection.

I heard the glossy screen makes it look better but I definitely don't want any reflection. What about the video card I don't know anything about the 8600M GT lol I just found out about it while browsing dells website. The higher resolution only comes in a glossy screen.
 
the one above the glossy option is the regular screen which is also 1920x1200 there are like 4 options.

it might be a bit heavy to carry around campus. there is a 14" and a 15" version of the same laptop.

Yeah I think I might get the 15" and maybe just stick with the 1440x900 display, since I can always get a doc and just use a bigger monitor for gaming. Or is the 1920x1200 still worth it?
