New Laptop?

Jaffa Cakes!

Hello,

Well... Im getting a new Desktop for Christmas and my Laptop just broke and for the price it would cost to repair the laptop (£350ish) we could buy a new one.

But, I was wondering, because I like to play games, I do go round my mates alot and like to take my laptop with me to have a good game of Counter-Strike: Source would this laptop be upto the job of playing the latest games?

I would like to dock it at home so it could use my 19" Dell Monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers etc...

Then just undock it to take it out somewhere:

Or should I just go with a very cheap laptop and an £800 Desktop?

Thanks :)
Tom

Im using a Dell Laptop with a 1.6GHz C2D and the same gfx card and I play CS:S on highest settings and get around 100-150FPS on most maps.

The one you quote is nearly £1000...
why don't u just build mid-range gaming desktop + a cheap laptop for normal word processing + internet?

Yes I think this is the best solution, I don't get why people spend so much on a gaming laptop, while they can get better Desktops for much cheaper.
