New Member Here - Can't Get Video To Convert...

Hello, I'm a new member, just stumbled onto your wonderful forums.

I'll get right to the problem.

I downloaded a video from iFilm using keepvid.com, and I have the video on my desktop, in .flv form.

I'm trying to convert it to a Quicktime file using Videora iPod Converter. Every time I put it in to convert, it says 'Transfer Complete' after a couple seconds. I look on the desktop, and there's nothing in the file that was supposedly 'completed'.

And when I try to change the properties of the video to Quicktime, just for the heck of it, it'll say 'Error -2048: the file is not a movie file' after I try to play it.

Any help on how I can convert this properly, or what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks guys!

If it says its complete, and not on your Desktop check in your Documents, or in the Programs File.

The file is on the desktop - it just doesn't contain anything. It says 0 MB. Not the original file, the file that came about from the converter.

And, usually, when I put a video through the iPod Converter program, it'll take a couple minutes, even for a 4-minute video. This one is 30 minutes.

Hmm.

Has this converter worked successfully in the past?

Is it a trial version? If so, it may only let you covert 'X' amount of time.

Yep, it's worked successfully in the past, and presently.

Just converted a different video, actually, and put it on my iPod without a problem at all.

This is the only video that's given me a problem. I know for sure it works, since I went into Properties and switched it over to Windows Media Classic, and it played seamlessly.

Darn thing just doesn't want to convert properly.

Try another converter?

Maybe the program doesn't accept that format.

It's a flash video, and that's all I've ever converted were Flash Videos.

I thought it was possible that the video was copy protected, since I've never had this problem with another.

I should try a different converter, however.
