I just joined this form and i need help to choose a computer.
Plz help me i need some recommendations. The Price of both are the same.

i am studying engineering so i might also use it with engineering softwares but as of now i generally use it for gaming and movies.
 
and another problem i have is i use it extensively on the internet and i leave my computer on 24/7 so i need 1 that is reliable
 
I odered 1 online that was expensive but if one of the 2 i gave above is equivalent to this then i will choose one of the above as they are cheap.

i would go with the Pentium you posted :)

it saves you a lot of money. and i dont think the performance difference is worth the extra monney. ( especially since you're not gaming with it)
 
The pentium d is a kick ass processor with a lot of capabilities...especially if u are an engineering student running cad programs with rendering. The price of the xps from dell is crazy tho...especially if ur not doing a lot of gaming. Go with the pentium comp mentioned for $700, but look into the pentium d processor....might want to make that upgrade. Let me know if u wanna know about it. I was an Architecture student myself...used autocad and rhino... reply back if any questions.
 
Neither machine is
1. fully specified
2. good for gaming

Whats the price on these? (hopefully in the $700USD range or much less) The former is based on a discontinued platform and the latter based on a platform which will be shelved Sep25
