Hi Computer Forum,

I have been a user of a Macbook Pro now for 5 years and finally have decided it's about time I go back to using a desktop computer. Now bare in mind, I was never into the specs and details of computers at all until fairly recently so I'm still a relative beginner just wanting to learn more knowledge.

Anyways, back to the question. So after a respectable amount of research, I've finally decided on the computer I want to purchase:

The question is actually two part:

1) What do you guys think? The majority of the reviews are praising the computer and the price is exactly the range I am comfortable with spending. Should I put in another hundred or two to purchase a model with a slightly stronger CPU?

2) I am pretty satisfied with everything about the computer except for the GPU. I am not an avid gamer by any means, but I would like to crank out respectable frame rates in some of the higher end video games from time to time such as WoW, Dota 2, etc.

I know I will not be able to play these games with the stock GPU and am willing to purchase a stronger video card, but it's going to have to be a bit after I purchase the computer. How can I find out whether or not it is relatively easy to upgrade this model's GPU?

Essentially, I want to know whether or not I will be able to upgrade the GPU on the computer at a later time if I so desire. How would I go about obtaining this information??

I would just build a computer from scratch. You will get much more bang for your buck.

I'm not even sure that computer would have a PCIe slot, where the graphics card would go

hmmm, although I'm sure that may be the case, i'm not sure I have the knowledge to trust myself building a computer just yet. thank you though!

Check the guide in my signature below. It's really as easy as Legos and will save you money and get you a much better computer.

NeweggTV also has a very nice guide on how to choose parts and put it together. You can also ask us and we will give you a list of parts

Quick tip: if any friends or close relatives have any spare desktop towers, go ahead and ask if you can take them. Even older computers help. Believe it or not, not much has changed in 15 years, save for the motherboard and methods of wiring for organizational means. That's what I've been doing and I feel very comfortable opening up a computer and I'm still waiting on the parts for my first build.

Hope I helped :):D
