New mobo HELP

I bought a new ASRock socket 478 P4i45GV motherboard for my computer and I bought a Intel 2.66 GHz pentium 4 cpu. I installed everything but the on/off switch, and i hooked the power supply up (was set a 115watts it is 250watts max) and well the power supply has a green light that comes on when you plug it into the outlet, well I plugged it and the light came on like normal then I plugged the motherboard cable into the mobo and the light goes off, unplug the cable from the mobo light comes back on? I'm stumped on this, and how to install the on/off switch, and hdd/on leds...the manual doesn't tell how to do this...

For one that setting 115- 230 is the voltage not the wattage, if you live in the USA set it to 115 volts. As far as how to hook up the case wires to the mobo, look on page 16 of the manual, it shows you what pins are what. It's called system panel connector.

Oh ok I got the on/off switched connected and well nothing..got everything hooked up tried to turn it on and no even the cpu fan turned on...

Thats what I was thinking...but theres no way because I used them on the old motherboard which when I turned it on would beep histrically but would let all of the hardware work...I noticed on the mobo it doesn't have a cpu power input? Is this normal on some mobo's?

I don't think that cpu will work without the P4 power connector. I'm stumped why that motherboard don't have the 4pin cpu power connector.

Yeah really me too....but it says, that it will work with a P4? I dont get it...dang...I hooked the power supply up from the computer i'm using right now and still it didnt work the cpu fan didnt even spin...

The right header? I'm not exactally sure what you mean, do you think I should take everything off the board and just connect the power to it and see if it will put out any beep codes? So I know the mobo isn't shot?

Ok i took the mobo out and put it on top of a piece of card board and plugged just the ram and cpu and fan up, then plugged it in and it turned on fans spun, and came up to setup screen. How come it wont do this screwed down inside of the case?

Did you install the brass standoffs to the case before screwing the motherboard down? If not, you grounded the board to the case and thats why its not booting up.

Just make sure that the underside of the board does not touch the case anywhere. Try putting it back in the case and see if it boots now. Maybe you had a loose connection somewhere.

Ok I think the mobo is hitting the bottom of the case when its screwed down right where the sceen input and what not is..so what could I do right there in that place?
