new mobo, old Windows, lots problems

Installed an asus maximums vi hero mobo. Only Windows disc I have is vista. Did a fresh reinstall of Windows and now it won't recognize the network adaptor, nor the drivers from the disc. If I run the setup from the mobo disc I get redundancy error but chkdsk shows no errors on any disks. After looking online, asus don't seem to support vista and I really don't wanna buy 7 when 10 is almost out. Any ideals, or is vista to old to work?

Buy windows 7 or 8 and get the free upgrade to 10 when it comes out. If you are getting redundancy from the cd then it's the cd drive or cd not the hard drive.

Found a Windows 7 disc, forgot I had, so now I'm running that with the same (kinda) issue. Switched sata ports just to check and cd rom seemed to start to work but I'd now crap again. Remove the driver and Windows put one back and now I'm stuck at the motherboard cd loading screen. Far as I know the cd rom was having no issues with old mobo

What hard drive are you trying to install on? Try using a different dvd drive. I still say its the dvd drive. What sata ports do you have everything attached to? There are 2 sata controllers on that board.
