Hi

My current modem recently started playing up (restarting unexpectedly) so i have decided to get a new one. I was thinking of buying this for quite a reasonable price: Billion 7300G ADSL2+ Modem/ Router/4port Switch <click here for details>

I was wondering though... I have a cable connection (big black wire into the wall from my modem ;)) but the name says ADSL2+... does this mean it wont work with my cable connection? according to some other sites they cable and adsl2+ modems are the same thing and i havent been able to find any cable modems yet so im fairly confident but thought i would check here b4 i blow $90 ;)

Any responces welcome

you will have to get a cable modem anyway, but you can plug your cable modem into your router, it will not slow down the end computers connection speed, you just will be wasing money on the ADSL2 inbuilt modem part of the router. another good feature is the VPN. im looking at getting a VPN router

But there is alot of "fluff" in that advert. eg, protection against ping of death. LOL!!! that will be caught if you are just running XP with service pack 2. ping of death protection should not be advertised by anyone as a feature.
