new monitor

I just bought a 22 wide Samsung monitor. I have an older Gateway pc with no digital hookup. Is the best resolution i can get 800 by 600? I try setting it to higher resolutions but then everything (icons and all are really small). Is this the best I can do with analog hook up?

It must be the video card. Try updating your drivers.

The higher the resolution, the smaller the icons will be. Try using large icons
