is this a good gaming monitor, and can i link these speakers to a 5.1 surround sound speakers here:

yeah that monitor is pretty good and cheap but i don't think that you can plug the surround sound to it if thats what you want to do why not just plug the sound into your mobo

no i don't think you can do that unless you have enough slots for sound on your mobo

Dude get a splitter or do what I do, I have a 7.1 setup, and 8.1 is a version of 7.1 with more "gain" on the equalizer for the side surround speakers. I connect my 5.1 system to the front speaker output on my mobo and the monitor speakers to my rear speaker output.
Look at it this way, don't buy a monitor just b'cause it has speakers on it. The speakers that come on a monitor really suck, no kidding. The only thing I use them for is when I am listening to some music and don't wanna wake the dead.

Hanns G makes a good monitor though, it is a glossy screen with really clear text, my friend has one.
