any suggestions for a good chip and motherboard for good system? like pent 4? any suggest appreciated, wanted a computer that be ok for a few yeaRS W/O UPGRADING CHIP. ANY SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED.

1. If you want a system that will be, "ok" in a few years, then Pentium4 is not an option ... at the very least, Pentium D for Intel. On the AMD side of things, the Athlon64 X2

Easy on the allcaps. As for the price ... well that kinda depends, (a little bit obviously), on the budget you've got and the intentions you have for the machine...........
