New motherboard, compatible?

I'm thinking about getting this mobo over the summer, and I have a few questions about it...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131568#spec

First of all, is it actually a good choice? Worth the money?

Second, will it be compatible with all of my current components (in my sig)? I'm planning on getting a new case as well, but I'm thinking that won't matter?

Is it good for overclocking? My current one is horrible for overclocking, which from what I understand the CPU is pretty good for.

Also, I might be looking to upgrade further in the next year or so, mainly my video card. Will this mobo still be useful for later graphics cards, like new SLI cards, etc? Will there be a problem with software updates, such as DirectX, or can I just download the new software?

Lastly... is it plug-and-play? My 2 hard drives are in RAID 0 right now, and I have about 300 gb on them, so I don't want to have to redownload and install everything when I upgrade. Can I just plug the hard drives into the new mobo and keep all my data?

Lots of questions lol, but thanks for your time.

You do know on a Gigabyte you have to press F1 and Ctrl when in the bios to open the overclocking options

no my comp just wont start as soon as i overclock the FSB by like 15mhz... i've tried increasing voltage, all that other good stuff, but as soon as i turn the comp on it just says that i'm on too high of a frequency or something and freezes at that screen. then i have to reset cmos.

Have you set the HT settings back to X4 and try setting your ram to 333 instead of 400, when you raise the FSB it raises everything. As far as the Asus, its a pretty good board, better northbridge cooling than the Gigabyte and SLI, but as far as Overclocking theres not going to be much difference between the 2

I think that motherboard is fine, its a little old but still a good one. Asus makes solid motherboards. I cant imagine why it wouldn't be compatible with your other parts. Not sure about the overclocking (never overclocked before) and the plug and play you are talking about. But it will support the 'new' graphics cards that come out. Just if you go SLI with two 8800 GTX..you might be cramped for space, but other than that I think you're okay.
