Hey guys..... just got a new motherboard. Well, technically it's used but only for about 6 days. Anyways, one of my questions is... (the box says it's AM3+ ready) does that mean I can take out my FX-4100 AM3+ cpu from my Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P motherboard and put it in the 970A? The guy I bought it from had a Phenom II X6 1090T cpu in the 970A mobo and said that I'd have to get at least get a Sempron 145 cpu and then update the bios to get the motherboard to accept my FX-4100. (He told me he never updated the bios and it's still Bios version F1/revision: 0.2)

Is he right? He gave me the option of buying his 1090T for $130, which is tempting.... and he also said that the 1090T is much better than my FX-4100 for gaming.

oh well..... I went ahead and bought the 1090T for use with the 970A-UD3 mobo. Will probably use that setup for multitasking rather than gaming. I guess this thread wasn't necessary if I wasn't going to use the FX-4100 with the 970A-UD3.

Can this thread be deleted by a moderator?

the bios version is F1.... and I think I'l just leave it at that since I made up my mind that I won't be using the FX-4100 with the 970A-UD3 motherboard. I'm just gonna leave the FX-4100 with the 78LMT-S2P motherboard and save that for.... I don't know, future build spare parts or something.
