You need your 6pin on your GFX, if your GFX requires it...

Make sure your 12V 4pin is in, and your 20 + 4 is all in. Then listen for any beeps, make sure that your disabled onboard video, re-seat your RAM, and go down to your needed components, as it could be an hardware conflict.

I just got it going, but... my new motherboard is making my windows xp go crazy, so crazy that it corrupted it and when I tried to reinstall it, I couldn't. I have installed windows xp at least 6 times prior to this, but now, when I tried to install it, the dvd-rom drives seem to not be able to read a bunch of the installation files?

Sounds like you have some bad memory modules. If you have more than one chip, try taking one out and then reinstalling. If it still doesn't work. put the other one back in and take the other one out and see if it works. That symptom usually means bad memory.

doese the processor have anything to do with the installation not being able to complete? I reformatted the drive, and tried to install a fresh copy of windows on it, but no luck. now, is it the ram or cpu? any help would be much appreciated, thanks and later.

If there was something wrong with the processor it wouldn't even boot most likely. The problem you are having is most likely ram related, trust me. Download and burn MEMTEST86 to a bootable cd so you can run memory check. This will tell you if you have a bad stick of ram... If its not the memory, you either have a bad cdrom drive or bad installation cd. But I'm still guessing your issue lies with the memory.
