Hey, i got my Gigabyte EP43-DS3L motherboard today, so i put all my hardware in the motherboard, as you do. All working fine in the old motherboard apart from the CPU which was brand new.

I'm almost sure i connected everything connectly, but when i start up it just spins the fans and LED comes on, the graphics card fan is much faster and louder than previous too.
I don't get any image on my monitor and there are 4 LEDs that say Phase next to them on the motherboard

Phase 1 is green, phase 2 is green, phase 3 is orange and phase 4 is red. I'm not sure if that means anything.

Wnat could be wrong guys? Everythign appears to be plugged in and working, just the motherboard isn't startign up o_O Cheers

a verify DMI hang is sometimes caused by improper configuration of drives...

what hard drives, cd, floppy drives do you have in your system? and are they s-ata or IDE?

for s-ata : ensure s-ata drives are plugged in number order on the motherboard and not randomly (e.g use port 1 then 2. not 4 and 6 e.c.t )

for ide : depending on how many ide devices ( if any ) you have make sure the jumper setting on the ide drive is set to cable select ( sometimes notated as 'cs' on the drive )

give that a try and see what happenes. you probably have much better advice coming soon anyway but i hope i helped :)

I am having a similar problem as your original problem that was fixed but you didn't mention how you did it. I have a GA-EP45-UD3R/UD3 with a Q6600 and I can't get it to post for the life of me. I have now RMA ed the board, CPU, and PSU. I turn on the machine and all the fans go on except the CPU fan. After a few seconds, the cpu fan kicks on, but only for 15 seconds or so, and then the system shuts down and powers back on. I believe I have the same phase led readout as you had, first 2 are green, third is orange, and the rest are red I believe.

This is the craziest PC issue I've ever had. I am totally stumped. I'm wondering if there is a compatibility issue. If anyone can shed light and possibly get my system working, holy crap would you be doing a good deed. Anyone???
