New motherboard suggestions

Have a tower from 2003 with an old A7V8X-X Asus motherboard. I dug it out a couple of weeks ago, and to my surprise it of course fired up, if only for a few minutes. I want to keep using the tower, and short of not wanting to do major mods to the frame, I want to replace the mother board. What would be a good replacement MB for the tower, that would allow me to reuse the tower as is? Also, what would be your choice of processor for that new motherboard?
 
Thats a old socket A/462 board. Not made anymore, Might be able to find a used one. Any newer board, you would need to replace the CPU and memory.

Not looking to keep the CPU, I want to build a new machine, but keep the case. Recommendations for a board that would work with a case designed for the A7v8x-x? And a processor for the new board?
 
Its a standard ATX motherboard. Any mATX or ATX motherboard will fit. You looking at going with AMD or Intel? Dont know what kind of power supply you have, but probably you will be looking at getting a new power supply too.

Plus whats your price range your looking at spending?
