So Im looking for a new motherboard, here are my current specs:
MSI H81M-P33 LGA 1150 Intel H81 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Zotac ZT-60207-20L GeForce GT 640 Graphic Card - 900 MHz Core - 2 GB GDDR3 SDRAM - PCI Express 3.0 x16
Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell Quad-Core 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I54670K
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
Zotac ZT-60207-20L GeForce GT 640 Graphic Card - 900 MHz Core - 2 GB GDDR3 SDRAM - PCI Express 3.0 x16

So this was my first build and it went great, did make the mistake of getting a micro ATX, and I have a massive case =/ 2 things that bother my about my current motherboard is that I dont have enough SATA plugs I have alot of hard drives and second I just got 4 monitors and it only has 1 PCI plug.

So Im also thinking about getting another graphics card to run 2 of my monitors and having my current one run the other 2. I was thinking of getting another GT640?

Also if you have any advice about changing motherboards and not having to re-install OS clean that would be great

budget is ~$250

What operating system do you have? Is it OEM or retail? Either way windows will have to be reinstalled because of the different hardware. You can try uninstalling all drivers before switching out the motherboard. Can't promise that it will still boot up but it might. Sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.

Whats your budget?

Like johnb35 said. If you uninstall all the drivers motherboard related, I've had about a 90% success rate of it booting. Then install all of the new motherboard drivers. But saying that, its always better to do a clean install. You got a Retail or OEM copy of windows

Plus like said. How much do you want to spend on a motherboard?

~250 for just the motherboard, and im not playing a game with 4 monitors or anything crazy, mostly just using the other screens for email, web browsing, and having code up. But im open to ideas on different graphics cars as well im just looking to do the mother board first.

I do have a older GeForce GTX 260 896 MB GDDR3(the orange one) that was just given to me, that i could do something with, but i would like too be able to support 6 monitors incase i one day do that. Will all GT640 work with my current card no matter the brand?

so will the "Asus GT640-DCSL-2GD3 GeForce GT 640 Graphic Card" work with my Zotac? and i got the "GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD5H LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard" thanks john

What case have you got?
What PSU have you got?
Personally won't spend $250 on motherboard. I recommend you look for those mid-range Z97 around $160.

Since you have GT640 and GTX 260, i think you can install them to run mulit monitor?

RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready, i went with GIGABYTE GA-Z97X which was $160, my case is some massive mofo that can fiit anything, but would the "Asus GT640-DCSL-2GD3 GeForce GT 640 Graphic Card" work with my Zotac?

Yeah they would work no problem, just have different utility software.
And for windows i'd re install it clean but before doing that make sure you have a copy of windows OS in disk, or pen drive form as well as a key to activate it later.
As for the GTX 260, I wouldn't use it as it takes a lot more power to run compared to the 640's.
