New PC Build

Hello everyone I'm new to this forum...as you can probably tell by the number of posts I have...and I would just like some advice on my new PC build. I have an issue and this was my first computer that I put together. My setup is as follows.

Apevia Case
Corsair 750W PS
ASUS EVO AM3 Motherboard
AMD 955 Quad-core 3.2 Ghz
OCZ 6 GB RAM
AMD Heatsink w/fan
GeForce Video Card 1GB
2 HP DVD+/- Drives
Western Digital 500GB HDD
Linksys Wireless Card

So after installing everything and hooking everything up I turned the PC on and got no response to my monitor. I saw that all the fans were running but the BIOS didnt show up on the screen. I suspected at first that I had a defective video card but I swapped in a good video card and I got the same result. Then I swapped out the RAM and still nothing different. At this point I'm thinking I got a defective motherboard but I'm not sure of what route to take from here. Any opinions would be helpful.

The ASUS motherboard that I bought can handle up to 16GB of RAM...it has 4 slots and the board reads DDR3 1600, 1333, etc. The RAM I have is DDR3 1600, 3 cards with 2GB each.

Yeah, 4 slots, each "piece" of RAM is 2GB ea iirc, that would mean you're not running in dual channel, anyhow, have you tried one at a time? You just said you swapped out the RAM.

Actually I think I just solved my problem....I looked up a review on the motherboard and everyone is saying that the BIOS on the motherboard right now isnt compatible with my CPU. ASUS is upgrading the BIOS so I think I have to just return my board. I actually didn't know that I couldn't run 3 sticks at one time. Will it not read 3 sticks like that?

It will, but it'll run in single channel. To run in dual channel, you'd have to get stick or RAM in pairs 4GB (2x2GB), or you can get another stick and do 8GB (4x2GB). Only the Intel Core i7s can run in triple channel, ex: 6GB (3x2GB)

Well more bad news guys...I got another motherboard (this time a MSI one) and reinstalled everything but I got the same problem...I booted it up and the BIOS didn't come up on the screen. Actually, nothing came up on the screen...again all my fans were running so I new that everything was getting power. Is it possible that the CPU is the problem now?
