New PC For Bro

Hey everyone!

I am building a PC for my bro. I have an idea of the parts already but I need some help with the final decisions. He will need it for multi-tasking and playing games like: BFBC2, CS:S and TF2.

Concerns:
1) A lot of AM3 motherboards are not supporting the 955 965 off the bat. They need BIOS updates. Does anyone know if this one supports them right away without a BIOS update?

2) Power Supply, am I going too big? Is it a good brand?

3) ASRock, reliable?

4) CPU Cooler, is it a good choice? I've never installed one before. Is it easy? Will it fit in the case?

5) Does the power supply have all the connectors I need?

6) Anything I missed?

Budget is about $950.

It looks to be a AM3 board so it should. If not, a update isn't hard to do. Great case...if you have extra room...I would get some more fans but other then that...looks good to me...

I can answer a couple of your questions.

1) Power supply. Not too big, 550W should be a good wattage for your build, and OCZ is a very good brand. I think you made a good choice.

5) Yes, the power supply should have all the connectors you need and probably a few extras

1. IDK anything about BIOS sorry .

3. ASRock should be fine there.

4. I would reccomend an arctic cooler freezer 7 pro rev. 2 if you need one it is $10 more but probably a lot better. If your not planning on overclocking dont get one. Just use the stock one.

6. I dont think you missed anything but i would just get the phenom II 955 it is like $30-40 cheaper and will overclock just as high if you are planning on that.
