Messing around on Cyberpowerpc. Thoughts on this configuration? perhaps some alternatives? Trying to get something crazy going for future PC gaming.

Not sure if the link will show my selections, but here is what I had selected:

$2,500 is my budget, but I would probably spend a little extra. Depends on how worth it and how much of a game changer the changes would be.
 
Yeah I am having trouble reloading the configuration. However, I am looking for a crazy build here.

The only problem is my inability to not get overwhelmed when picking these things out lol. I have $2,500 ish to spend on a gaming PC that I am going to have no issues with, and rock games out at max settings.

First question is this for all you computer nuts: Can cyberpowerpc website give me what I want?

Second Question: What would be the best base computer to go with off of there?

Case: Nice enough that I can upgrade parts in the future.

I would like an i7 for a processor

Nvidia graphics card

Hard drive, with a solid state drive for OS and such.

Not sure whether or not to go with Win 7 or 8?

Would Like 16 gigs of RAM

Nice MOBO

If you're just gaming, 16 gigs is far too much RAM in my opinion if you're just gaming. I recommend 6 to 8 gigs.

You can build a PC for much cheaper and better if you assemble it yourself.

I recommend Newegg.com or tigerdirect.com.

Or are you set on Cyberpower?
 
I would say I am set on any website that will be reliable and put my computer together for me. Not to keen on putting everything together unfortunately -.-. Feel like it may be to difficult lol.
 
Hey if you can put Legos together you can out a PC together. Building a PC is honestly easier and sometimes faster, honestly haha.

If you really don't feel confident, and you're dropping 2500 on a PC, the best I can give is personal experience.

Cyberpower will build your computer fine. The main issue are their power supplies. They do use cheap power supplies and wiring to lower cost. I would not recommend Cyberpower.

I would recommend Alienware. I recommend them loosely because they charge insanely high prices for their computers. However, they're owned by Dell, a reputable computer company. They will come to your house and fix your computer, free of charge. Cyberpower will not. They require you to send the PC back, at a charge to you, and you will have to wait weeks.

Now for gaming, any i7 is great.

You want 6 to 8 gigs of RAM.

Any solid state hard drive will do. They are manufactured the same. I will ask what size solid state and HDD do you need?

Windows 8 for sure.

The case is fine. They're basically all built the same.

I would say 2TB Hard drive, and a 120 gig to 200+ SSD? Want to build for longevity as well as insane gaming now.

As far as Alienwares go, I feel like they are overpriced. I have an alienware laptop that is three years old. I love it, and it served its purpose, but it can't give me what I want so its time for a desktop. The alienware desktops seem pricey, and I have read that Dell computers leave little room for expansion and replacing parts down the line.

Why windows 8? Feel like it is the least liked OS, so is there some sort of benefit when it comes to gaming by using windows 8?
 
120 GB SSD is perfect. 2 TB HDD is pretty insane for just gaming. However, if you're for longevity, that will do for sure lol,

As I said, Alienware is absolutely overpriced. However, if you're going for longevity, their support cannot be beaten. Any problems you have Dell will send a technician to your house. Since your skittish going inside your computer, Alienware will repair your computer themselves, also if you're worried about later expansion, don't forget, Cyberpower only has phone support. They will not upgrade your computer, only Alienware will. I've never heard of Alienwares being hard to expand with. I've looked at their internals numerous times, and never had a problem throwing more RAM in them or adding hard drives.

Windows 8 being least liked is more of an opinion. And again, if you're looking for longevity, Windows 8 will have the most end user support further down the line. The older the OS, the sooner the support ends. Windows 7 is already 5 years old. You will enjoy more support and LESS compatibility issues with Windows 8.

Realistically, Cyberpower is overpriced, as well. They use cheaper parts, for sure.

Anyways, your rig will be overkill. So it looks good other than the RAM. I would drop it to 6 gigs and then use that money for other features. You can always cheaply and easily add RAM later. You'll never max 6 or 8 gigs gaming. At least not in the near 6 years. 16 is just way too much.

I wouldn't say I am skittish going inside my computer. I have purchased new graphics cards, ram and things like that and installed them myself.

I also Built a computer with a friend about 6 or 7 years ago. He pretty much did it all and I just sat there and watched though lol.
 
Ok well sounds like you're set. I don't see any flaws. You'll easily max any game for a long while.

I'd just bump down the RAM and get a bigger SSD with extra money. You'll easily be able to upgrade graphics or RAM later if needed, which I seriously doubt will be anytime soon.

If you're seriously into hardcore gaming, just be sure to install games on SSD.

I would change the i7 to the i5 4670K, you'd save a good bit of money and see the same performance.

That depends on the actual definition of hardcore gaming. I play a hell of a lot of video games lol. If I am not working, or working out, I am probably gaming. With the upcoming release is ESO, I anticipate being on the comp quite a bit.
 
Do you have a sweet website that you would recommend if I am looking to buy a custom pre built computer? And you said new egg off I am liking to build?
 
I've never bought a pre-built but Newegg does have pre-builds and I would absolutely recommend them from Newegg. If you visit their page you'll go up to the top left under: Shop All Stores> PC's and Laptops> Gaming Desktops

Not a huge fan of ADATA SSDs, see if you can go Samsung 840.

Go for 2x4GB for 8GB rather than 1x8GB. Dual channel performance. Or, go for 2x8GB to make 16GB.

Not a huge fan of Thermaltake power supplies but it should be OK.

You could save money by getting rid of the sound card since most onboard audio is perfectly adequate.

Do you really need an i7 4820K and an X79 motherboard? You could save a lot of money by going 4770K and Z87 and maybe put it towards another GTX 780 Ti or something, or just save it. There's not going to be any noticeable difference between the 4770K and the 4820K in gaming - but there will be in cost!
 
Everything looks fine.

I dont personally see an issue with the SSD, they are all built the same.


But yeah that looks great for your wants man.

using that configurator, that was the cheapest Processor available.

the RAM is 2x 4 GB. They just put that 1x next to everything on the details page I copied the configuration off of.

Why not build it yourself? Then you can choose everything yourself (and it may be cheaper).
 
Honestly? It makes me to nervous. Feel like I would miss something, or get overwhelmed. Prefer the peace of mind knowing someone else did it.
