New PC trying to get into bios, no video

Finished putting together my new pc, got a video card tonight. However, I have my monitor, mouse, keyboard, and power in and when I turn it on nothing shows on the screen, it just has the box to change the monitor settings like nothing is in. Everything I am using is brand new, so nothing should have any problems. All the fans work, it powers up fine, but nothing shows on the screen.

I have a MSI K8N Neo2 Nforce3 Ultra Mobo, a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice CPU, a VisionTek Xtasy Radeon 9250 Video Card, dount anything else is important for this matter.

Any ideas? Thanks.

its all i have, brand new everything freshly built pc, so thats the only agp video ccard i have that fits the slot in my mobo

Try swapping the video card, sometimes there are DOA shipments
yea if its all freshly built and "new'.. you should have no problem taking it back and exchanging it for a different one or similar one that will fit your motherboards specifications. just because something is new doesn't mean its 100%

What monitor do you have..... Try swapping it out for a different one to see if that is the problem. Aslo... are there any beeps in POST??

have you put all the jumper settings in correctly. gone through the motherboard manual, made sure all power calbes are in the mobo sockets etc. just go through it one at a time. make sure you have put the right jumper(s) on the hard drive, cd rom drive etc. you have the right ram, cpu is in properly.

dont take it back straight away, get a professional opinion, it might be something that you would never have thought of. just take it to a computer shop and ask them if they can find out what and if you have done wrong.
