New PC-what to do?

I am making a new pc. I want some of the files fom my old HD and i am also buying a new 80Gb drive. My old pc has ME and that is what is installed on the HD as the operating system.
Should i install the new HD an get the PC running with that on XP then add my old HD and delete everything apart from the files i want to keep. It wont try 2 load ME will it?
 
i think as long as the HD with XP on it is set to master it should be just fine, i would recommend getting rid of ME anyway since its freakin sucks...XP rules.
