New PC, Windows??

So I've ordered a new PC, it will come without windows...

So I have a current PC and a Disc with Windows....

How can I get my windows on my new pc? My girlfriend will be taking over my old pc, she has a laptop and a windows CD for that one....So the laptop will be put away, my new computer will run with my current windows and my current pc will run with the windows from my girlfriends old laptop...

But how to switch things around? Can it be done without deleting normal stuff from the pc? Same disc(1 windows) won't install on more than one PC, that's all I know?

Your question's kinda' hard to understand.
If you're trying to install an OEM version of windows on a different computer, that's illegal, violation of MS TOS, and activation will fail.

If it's a retail edition, then you're good, you can install it on any computer you want, given you don't exceed the maximum number of installs allowed by the license agreement. In general, that's ONE. You can move your old windows license to your new computer if you remove it from the old computer.

You will need to reinstall Windows on the new computer and if you want to keep your personal files from your old computer, you'll need to save them on an external HDD or on the cloud, and copy them back to the new computer.

And you cannot 'move' your old programs to the new computer by copying them. You'll need to re-install them on the new computer.

In my opinion, the best thing to do would be to get Windows 8 Pro for the new computer. You'll hate it at first. But in a few days, you'll start loving it.

Why don't you just backup your data from your old computer and transfer it to the new one. Or am I missing something?
