I am going to get a new PC and thought that building my own would be a good idea. My budget is £600-700. I have visited overclockers and got this:

Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-046-WD) - £46.99
Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-126-IN) - £114.99
BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-025-BG) - £79.99
Enermax Liberty 400W ELT400AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CA-026-EN) - £41.99
Akasa AK-ZEN-01-BK Zen Black Case - No PSU (CA-020-AK) - £26.99
NEC ND7173 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer LabelFlash ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-047-NE) - 19.99
Asus P5N32-SLi SE Deluxe nForce4 SLi X16 (Socket 775) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-174-AS) - £119.99
Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 Keyboard (KB-054-MS) - £11.99
Logitech S96 PS/2 Optical Wheel Mouse Black - OEM (KB-046-LG) - £5.50
Logitech S100 10W RMS Speakers Black - OEM (SP-023-LG) - £5.94

This comes to £556

However, this does not have any RAM (I want 1GB) or a LCD (17"). Can anyone suggest a website which I could get these two components from, and the components work well with the other hardware. Or, where I could find these components for a lower price. This has to be a UK store/website.

Thanks

Dabs and Ebuyer. They are not computer-only websites, although computer parts form a large part of their catalogue. They are, however, the cheapest shops for parts, but you may not find certain parts you want.

Scan. Sell computer parts only. As a result, they have more to choose from.

As a last resort, use Chillblast and Overclockers. They are the most expensive sites I have come across, though they often stock parts you can't find anywhere else. (I got my Mushkin memory from Overclockers - couldnt get it anywhere else. At all.)
