Well i decided that along with my desktop, i'm going to get a new Pocket PC.
I'm thinking i'm going to go with an Asus PPC, http://event.asus.com/us/A730/index.htm , but idk if i should do that or go with the conventional Dell or HP.

BTW the specs on the asus
cpu:520mhz intel Xscale
wireless: 802.11b and bluetooth
memory: 128mb / cf or sd card
extras: 1.3mp camera 3.7 in. screen USB port (YES!)
$520 (a little expensive, but u get what you pay for i guess)

I've had two pocket PC's, both HP's, im not sure of the model number but they were the media editions, cost around $300 each.

They were cool at first, but then the next day or so it got really boring, for around the same price you can get a used laptop that is much more functional. Also, the WiFi on one of them kept dropping constantly, so i had to return it.

I had a Dell Axim x5 for quite a while and really liked it. WIth my CF wifi card I'd surf the net from my room. It could handel most any site, but of course less content was desired ;P I think mine was about $400 when I got it a couple years ago. I used it though out community college to take notes and such. I guess yours is still QVGA...there are some rather impressive games for these things ;)

I have an I9300 laptop already, and i have an axim X30, but i'm wanting someting more, and its also going to be usefull because i'm using it to track expenses and profit at my business, and use it for a very mobile pc at home, that includes messenger all around the house once i get a router hooked up, and then i can sync it up to my laptop to get movies and stuff onto the large CF card i am planning on getting. With the usb thing, i can even hook it up to a say 20gb cheap external hdd while on long trips, and then just hook it up to my normal plug to AC adaptor thingy i have and i don't have to take out the big laptop.

EDIT: Also, u can get a 4gb sd card ($120) and an 8gb cf ($?) or a 5GB microdrive ($99) and be pretty much set for music and movies!

OK, so i've narrowed down to either the Asus A730W ($500) or the Dell X51 ($300) the dell doesn't have the features or screen size of the A730W, but it is cheaper and has room for me buying CF and SD cards.

I have a PalmOne LifeDrive, 4GB, WiFi, Bluetooth, Landscape view, Voice recording, mp3 player, movie player, sandisk expan slot, infrared, and a real nice screen. It cost me about $800 CAD after getting the extended warranty and the wireless keyboard. Its currently the best palm avaliable (in terms of a wide variety of features and the 4GB hard drive) BUT I have to agree with OMEGA.....they do get boring after a while because you get use it.

I have the Dell Axim X50v...and I love it! I've had it for about a year now....it's absolutely amazing. It has a HUGE screen, as well as one of the best graphics processors available for a handheld. I have numerous games on it that run flawlessly, some 3D. In addition, it's extremely small and lightweight, and has integrated WiFi and Bluetooth, as well is an IR port. It has both CF and SD expansion slots, something I like a lot. I also LOVE the lock feature, I can lock the buttons so it doesn't accidentaly turn on in my pocket. The handheld itself has grips so it doesn't slip out of your hand, and has a one-touch button for both activating and disabling the wifi, and also for recording voice messages. When I travel, I can check my email with Outlook Express...and I keep all my assaignments in my tasks folder. The whole thing is amazing....I wouldn't go with anything else.

Sorry for the rant :).

Yes the Dell has the same features as the Asus minus the screen size (not completely sure) and usb i believe.

yes, my friend has a bluetooth fold up keyboard, and its awesome! but it costed like $100, so idk if im gunna go for that.

I'm sure you can get cheaper keyboards. It might not be bluetooth, but wired isn't all that bad, or even infared. I'd guess maybe $60 max for a foldable wired keyboard, maybe $80 for infared.

Are you kidding? I bought an Infrared foldable (laptop size) keyboard on eBay for $15 USD.
