New Processor in Today

So I got my whole new system and the E6550 turned out to be awesome. Its got an Antec/Koolance case with the water cooling system built in so cooling is effortless. Im running it at the lowest fan speed which is silent and at my current OC i get 52C max under load. With only a little raise of the vcore I got 3.4GHz easy. Ran superpi and got 15s for 1M. thats quite an improverment over my old P4 which got 44s. but all in all im very excited to see what this thing can do in the coming days.

Hell with water id kick the fans to medium and go for 4.0ghz ^-^

Grats though 3.4ghz is still a impressive clock :)

oh i know theres lots more there. one of these days ill kick up the fans and see what i can get stable. but in general im happy with 3.4 and silence.

the motherboard can handle it. im at 3.5 on lowest fan setting at 50C under load. 1m superpi at 14s now. if i can figure out what to set all the voltages at then ill start pushing it to the max. the only thing ive OCed before was an athlon 64 and the mobo only allowed fsb changes.

problem im having though. i dont know which temp reading to trust... im pretty sure that my temp shouldnt jump up 10C instantaneously when load is applied. but it seems now like both speedfan and core temp both read out a temp based on cpu usage and not actual temperatures.

you may want to change the radiator out on that, seems to me they use an aluminum rad with copper parts, in about 6 months time or so, you might notice a temperature increase
