After spending all day trying to figure out this problem I have come to the conclusion that I am stumped.
A couple months ago I purchased a new power supply since the one I had was pretty old and I feel it needed an upgrade, It was BeQuiet brand. Everything worked fine until I played games, I would play a game for about 10-20 minutes and it would lose connection to the monitor - The computer would still be on, the fans would still be running but the monitor was showing nothing. Having decided I had a defective unit I sent it back and went back to my old psu.
Yesterday, I bought another psu and I am having the exact same problem. This one is an XFX pro 850W. I'm assuming I haven't received two defective units - it must be a problem elsewhere in my PC but I'm unsure what it is. I've checked temps while gaming and the CPU and GPU are around 50-55 which wouldn't shut my computer down with the previous psu.
The old psu is a generic CIT brand so I don't understand why that one still works while a newer ones don't.
Any input would be great since I am at a loss after tinkering with my computer for so long and having no results.
