New Psu

I want to get a new 350w psu that will fit in a dell dimension and will be conpatable with a pentium 4 with low noise. Where do i start looking?

if it's for your dell (not just to fit in the case) you have to talk to dell (I've said this in another thread to, but if you like making your own connectors/adapters and can get a pinout diagram you can convert any ATX mainpower to a Dell mainpower).

Look at the PSU in my sig , The Rosewill one , it just cost around 30 bucks and its a pretty good PSU for the money

most people claim this one is fairly quiet, and its a big name brand and its also pretty dang cheap as PSUs go http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153006

you can probably look around and find one with a fan control...that will help with some of the noise, mine has one but i never use it, i just keep it on high all the time, my pc is loud anyway, but it doesnt bother me, i like it.

That PSU only has 18A on the 12v Rail. If your going to be doing stuff like gaming and vid editing then you will need one a lot more stable than that. Look for one with at least 24A / 26A. If you've got the money then look around for a 34A one.

the 450 rosewill hase 22amps +12 ( ithink) and thats plenty if your doing normal stuff

22A is better ut still not really sufficient for top line gaming and video editing, you need at least 24 and preferably 30+ Amps on the 12V rail.
