New ram won't let computer boot..HP xw6000

I bout some more ram for my hp computer and after I installed it the computer won't boot or even power up the monitor. The stock ram has these numbers on it.

Micron 512mb DDR, 266, ECC, REG, PC2100R

The new I bought has these numbers

Micron 1GB DDR, 266, ECC, REG, PC2100R

I don't see why this won't work. Anybody have any idea? Here is the link to the ram I bought.

I am currently running 2GB of ram but I bought these and was going to upgrade to 4gb. The computer is an HP XW6000 with dual 3.06 GHZ processor
 
wow, that is a nice comp. anyway it seems like it should run. i dont see why its not working
 
that's what I was thinking too but it just acts like it's not compatable. I put the 4 512s back in and it works fine. I noticed when I had them in and tried to boot the computer the ram sticks seemed to heat up fast. My originals never do get hot to the touch.
