New rig

Your talking as if I'm gonna buy Maya 7.0, even though I've had it for quite a while now. I got it a few weeks after they released it, best money spent so far.

I figured that much. But happens when Maya 8.0 comes out? All I can say for the price tag seen on it get the most out of it for sure. It certainly sounds like a great software from the description. The best I came across some years back didn't cost anywhere that amount though. On the old 98 machine B's Recorder 5.0 Gold edition proved invalue when it installed directly to folders without creating registry keys. If you reinstalled 98SE over itself you simply created a new shortcut and it ran again.

I actually found a review on the ASRock mobo, I posted about earlier, in a computer magazine and according to that the performance is as good as a nForce4 based mobo has. Only bad thing about it was that there were some problems with the Athlon 64 4000+ and it didn't start up every time. I was encouraged by the article but then I started thinking about just saving up the money, getting a new guitar now and updating the complete system when Vista comes out and get a DX10 GPU and some nice AM2 system. Probably AM2.

There have been a variety of issues addressed at times with AMD cpus where AMD developed some special fixes for XP. Often I'll catch wind of a link when I come across something mentioned in a forum while looking for some other info. I downloaded a few of them with only one ever being used. The problem with the 4000+ sounds like a vulnerability in the design there.
