New Router and nothing?

So I just bought a new linksys router to replace my old router. It tells you to install the disk and follow that setup before you hook it up. So I put it in and nothing pops up, I look on this other paper they give and it tells you a code to type in under the run and it should pop it up, did that and nothing. Went back to Bestbuy to the Geek Squad and they told me the CD-Rom works cause they tried it and they said I should try unistalling my old router program, but problem is I can't find were it is. If anyone knows how to help me hook it up that would be great cause I really don't want to send my comp to Geek Squad and have them touch it.
 
What version of linksys?

usually linksys are accessable via http

try connecting all ur cables correctly configure your desktop and open the broswer.
i think default ip for linksys router is 192.168.1.1 (try to put it in the URL )
see if u getting the username/password login try admin/admin

p.s. i dont really know why you need the CD maybe i miss something
