New Samsung Galaxy Ace VE GT-S58391
Purchased 1 week ago. I have downloaded about three Apts and find that I cannot download or update anymore Apts because the phone memory is full, it puts them into the phone memory when the SD memory has plenty of space, there is no way of transferring the phone memory to the SD memory, the buttons are greyed out. Samsung must have a reason or know about this because there are lots of complaints on the websites and a rather complicates fix. (why should I fix a brand new phone?)
I cannot seem to delete the existing Aps that I do not want
Phone 190 MB 159MB used
SD 1.85 GB 292MB used
Is there a way around this? Or will they update the operating system?

That phone is not new, it originally came out over 2 years ago. Look like its only running android 2.3.

Would it be easier you back up all the data. Then run a factory restore. Then run all the updates. Install apps like app2SD and move all the app you need in the external SD?

BTW, 2GB SD card seems small to current standard, you could probably grab 8Gb or 16GB

Thanks, it seems that they must be selling all the old stuff to us in Ireland, It is in the phone shops here including Tesco. The SD card came with it, but if it is not making full use of it why get a 8Gb, operating system 2.3.6 Build Gingerbread.Bull1

You should have done your research before buying, you can get a much higher spec phone with jelly bean for only £80.

Get a decent size micro sd card, although i wouldn`t go over 8gb as that phone might not read any bigger a card than that, the cheapest place for memory cards is play.com

Install the card and move any big apps or personal files to the sd card, also some apps will not move to sd and are stuck on the phone try to find alternative apps that have move to sd capability.

I think the none deleteable apps that came with the phone which cannot be moved, are on the phone memory, and apps downloaded by myself are on the SD card. I need to confirm this with use. It would seem odd that it is not downloading to the SD, otherwise there is no point in buying a 4Gb card
The system is Gingerbread.
