Im gonna be upgrading my comp over the next 3 months so that I can spread the cost of the new build over 3 credit card cycles, and to give me time to sell my current proc, vid card, mobo, hs/f. Anyway heres what Im thinking for my last upgrade to last me a long ass time:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813152049 - mobo

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102588 - vid card

im using the x800 pro because it can be flashed to run at x800xt pe standards and with the gpu cooler I have, I can definately push it far.

If you're talking about Newegg, then yes, it is dependable. It's, arguably, one of, if not the, best site(s) for computer parts (I bought 4/5 of my computer from them, and I've only had positive experiences).

i was talking about the compu site but I saw that it is a skt 754 and well I think they phased those out.
Ah, I get what you were talking about. Yeah, they did phase out s754.

EPoX isn't the biggest name in overclocking, but its definetly a dependable brand from my experiences. For the price it's not bad, I would definetly take it over a Chaintech.

is it a good overclocker?

It's there budget board, so definetly not there flagship overclocker. However it should be loads better than say an ECS or Chaintech. If you're looking for an extreme overclocker for ~$90 I'd be looking at DFI or ASUS. The DFI's are a little pricy, but well owrth it cuz' they overclock very well.

No, that's also DFI's budget board, it won't be good for intense overclocking. The really good one is the DFI NF4 Ultra-D (non SLi) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...159&ATT=Motherboards+AMD&CMP=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r
I have heard nothing of the Ultra-Infinity one, or the one you linked too...reviews don't seem too good. It's more than your budget though, so maybe look at ASUS or just get the EPoX.

Are you getting the 3000+ or the 3200+? Either way, 2500MHz shouldn't be hard to pull off with the EpPoX you listed before, so spending extra on something else isn't necessary. This is of course providing you've got a good overclocking CPU, RAM, and a PSU which is able to power it under load.

im getting the 3000+. I know the ram I have is good for up to 250mhz and Im not sure about the psu. Its a 500w dual 12v line, 12v1 is 18 amps and 12v2 is 16 amps. I heard the 3000+ oc easily and with the stock cooler can get to 2.4ghz with no problem.

On amd64's how do you oc them? Dont you have to play around with the HT multiplier and the fsb?

PSU sounds like it can handle your setup.

so all around you think Im getting a good setup. Im trying to get the best bang for the buck, thats why im sticking with the x800pro which can be flashed to the xt pe, and the 3000+ which can be oc'ed to high heaven. I just dont want to cheap out and have to upgrade in 3 months.

I think your setups is very nice, I'd opt for the same video card and processor. Personally I'd want more than 2.5GHz, but that is just me. If i was shooting for 2.5GHz the EPoX would also be what I would order I think.

with the stock cooling I should get 2.2 ghz with no excessive heat. One of the reviews I read said that they were running it at like 2.3 ghz and that it idled at 32 and under load was like 35. Im gonna get a better cooling system, but b/t this upgrade and the comp I just built I wanna take a break from all the spending.

With the amd 64 and the x800xt I should be good for quite some time right?
