New SSD Issues

Hello. I just got a new PNY SSD. I have installed it and updated the drivers, and Intel Rapid Storage Technology detects it and claims it's functioning properly. But Window's Explorer still doesn't see it. Is there something I need to do so that Windows Explorer will see the drive and allow me to move files to it?

If you go into Disk Management, is it seen in there? You may need to format the drive, perhaps?

I guess you've installed this drive as an 'extra' drive?

Yes, this is just an extra. Disk Management detects the drive. I formatted it, and it says it is online.

So does that mean it detects it so you formatted it and Explorer sees it now, or you still don't see it in Explorer even though it's been formatted?

Explorer still does not see it, but Disk Management says the drive is online. The BIOS also sees the drive. I have not tried putting it in my laptop yet, but I can do that next.

After I took the drive out of my laptop and put it back in my desktop, Windows Explorer found it immediately. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Okay, so now the drive is detecting fine and I have my OS running on it, but I can't get the computer to boot from the SSD by default. When I go in the BIOS and find the option to change the boot by default, it only shows my old HDD and my CD Drive. When I select which to boot from this time, all three appear as an option.
