New Technologies are coming!

First off, i'll start with the x1900 Series video card, this card should have 48 pipelines, and a speed of 650/1550. Prices range from $650-$900, depending on the version.

There is also word of nVidia's G80 core, but i dont know of any specs on that yet.

The next version of 3DMark is coming out tomorrow, called 3DMark06 (obviously). This version includes the SM3.0 technology, as well as HDR. It is also optimized for single and dual-core cpu's, so the X2 series (as well as others) will see a greater difference in this version then previous benchmarks.

I was thinking the X1900 series would cost 800+!! Wow, 48 pipes? Guess it's ATi's turn to rule th GPU market for another 4 months :D

heres something else new thats coming:

Half-Life: 2 Aftermath is going to be released on April 24th.

Is there going to be a new physics system? I couldn't imagine it being any better...New AI also? I thought the ending of HL2 was pretty retarded though :(

Same as all the other HL's, It's a Oddly connected storyline and leaves for new opening to other games.

g80 should be directx10... about all i know that is confirmed. i know the ati r600 is supposedly going to have gddr4, 64 pipelines, 800mhz core built on 65nm... but those specs are more like guidelines for the card that is a year or 2 away from release. in any case, the nvidia g71 is comin in march (crosses fingers)

i couldnt agree more, kind of an anticlimax

and im not worried about these new cards at all, prices are just so outta my league that i tend to ignore them and stay looking at things like the 6800GT which will be hella cheap when these new ones come out....

does anybody know if DirectX 10 will be backwards compatible so you can play DirectX 9 games and lower.

how much do you think the 6800GT will cost by then??
and will it play games like maplestory, counter-strike, and steam games?

haha, I love looking at old threads. Back in the day the x1800XT was like $600, now it's like $50 on eBay.
