New TFT - Just ordered...

Heya all, its my birthday in 3 days and last night i specified that i really would like a new TFT screen, so my parents just ordered the one i pointed out.

Its made by hyundai, whihc i always thought was a car manufacturer, but nevermind, reviews are pretty good on it

SPECS:

8ms Response Time
800:1 Contrast Ratio
300cd/m2 Brightness Rating
1440x900 Max Widescreen Resolution
16:9

And heres the best part

19" HORIZONTAL

This means that the actual diaganol spec of the screen is a lot bigger, i scribbled out some pythag calcs on some paper and came up that it should be about 20.7" diagonal. LOL. how good is that

Its one of only a few manufacturers who actually state the horizontal length as the marketed value, most companies try and fool you and quote the LARGER diaganol length.

So technically, its almost a 21" widescreen TFT with the above mentioned specs.

Any comments....?

EDIT - oh it gets delivered tommorow, but i wont be able to get my hands on it until this saturday (23rd sept, im 18)

No, the dimensions given are the actual dimensions. A 19" TFT is 19" viewable.

Hyundai makes RAM and other semiconductors as well. It's just a shame they can't make cars.
 
read the reviews on newegg, and in other places too its 19" horizontal. I'll measure it diagonally when i get it of course. the site i bought it from isnt that reliable when it comes to giving accurate info.

also another online store quotes its dimensions as 21" - 19"x7", to me that kind of means 21" diag then 19x7 w X h

Dont forget to see my qoutes in the post after your first one, but we'll see, even at 19" its a darn nice screen, i wouldnt mind too much, but from 4 different sources all say its 19" horizontal, mixed reviews, confusion, ill reserve judgement until i actually get it on my birthday and give it a good ol' measure, and yeh, damn right ill be taking pics of it, its super sexy.

Oh and hyundai's technology website is located at hyundaiq.com but they only give reference to the N91S which is the standard screen, this one is the N91W, the widescreen one.
 
Yeah I know. I was there.. I looked over it several times before I went "what the hell?" Kind of wierd that they don't list it.

It is a very nice screen. I'm going to have to prostitute myself so I can buy myself one. :P

Good for you. :) That's awesome. Personally I don't believe in work. It's against my religion. I even started a church so I didn't have to pay tax. I don't know if I'll ever get around to telling the government that I'm the only member. ;)

I have had my eyes on a 24" widescreen for a long time, but my wife is being a bitch about it. She says that food is more important? WHA?!?! FOOD?? Are you KIDDING me? Let me think about this one for a second. 24" monitor... Food... 24" monitor.... Food. hmm. Seeing as how I can't plug food into my computer, the choice is an easy one.

Lol, tell her that she could order lots of food online if she buy's the 24" monitor, do you know how many cans of beans you can fit on a 24" monitor.... Tell her that...

Anyway, back to the monitor, why go with a company you've never used before, why? I'll tell you why, just to get screwed over andtaken advantage of. Bloody scan.co.uk now has stock shortages, strange that they didnt have them BEFORE THEY TOOK THE FRIGGIN' PAYMENT.... Now i cant cancel the order (cos they have taken the money) i cant change items, i cant order from somewhere else, and i have to wait til the 27th until they dispatch it, so thats the 30th by the time it gets delivered to me, sodding companies think they can take you for a ride and not blink an eyelid, well I'll show them, one indignant e-mail coming up, with red, bold and underlined text. HAH, that'll show'em
