Recently I've wanted to get into PC Gaming..but I have not much of a clue to where to start. I know a little about memory (RAM)..and a little more about the internal parts of the PC. I came across a PC at a store..I picked up for $50..and I've got it running pretty smooth. I plan on upgrading with a bit more ram to speed it up a bit more. I plan on having around 7Gb of Ram once I'm done. What are some requirements for a decent gaming pc? I have no clue so please help..I also don't know much about the video/graphics card. Could someone guide me in the direction of a good graphics card..not too expensive..also that would also run smooth on my pc? Sims 4..or any of the Sims games would be a n example of what I wanna play..but eventually the better games. I could give you the info you need from my PC if you ask or let me know how..thanks guys!

Why specifically 7 GB? That's an awkward number.

What is your budget and current PC specs? If you picked something up for $50 it probably isn't worth the parts to upgrade it.

For casual games you want at least 6-6 Gigs of RAM, and a preferably quad core processors, although most games will run okay on dual core. The processor should be more than 3 Ghz for newer games, however it depends on which brand it is, and the game itself.

A good graphics card, at least something like the 750 TI, is a must have

Sorry I meant 6GB. Yeah I have a 3 Ghz processor. Honestly I really just want to play the Sims lol. Is that enough? It was $50 because the store was closing. As for budget..what would a decent pc cost? Could anything be made for $500-600?

Here's some info. Not sure if it's right but I got some.

If you just wanted to play The Sims you could probably get away with throwing a cheap graphics card in there like a Radeon R7 250 or Geforce 740 GDDR5.

Most higher end ones would require an upgrade to the power supply as well.

Thanks alot man. I'll probably get a cheaper one then. Could you give me the best place to order one? Direct link?
