hey guys, im new to the forum; its a cool forum site btw. anyway, i actually got a couple questions. i was wondering what exactly should my motherboard and cpu temperatures be? i have an AMD system i just put together and i heard amd's run a little hotter than intels. it was my first time building a comp from scratch so im pretty stoked, but i donno if its cooling ok or not. i dont really know how to monitor it either other than checking the bios at startup.

also, when i restart my computer, sometimes it will shut down the monitor, keyboard, and mouse but the power LED indicator stays lit and you can still hear the cpu fan going, so im assuming the tower itself isnt shutting down or what but i know its not restarting the way it should. and sometimes when it does restart successfully, it will start back up and get as far as the energy star screen , the one with the energy star in the corner and the light gray text with black background, and then nothing happens. absolutely nothing moves, and the mouse and keyboard stay off, so i have to press the reset switch. if anyone can help me with any of this stuff, i'll really appreciate it!:D

download a monitoring program like everest or speedfan, they give accurate temperature readings. your other problem could be a lot of things, maybe harddrive problems or corrupted a windows installation.
