I just installed mandrake linux and it will boot and then i go to the login screen, log in, and then I get a command promt. How do i get to a GUI?

Well it depends what login manager you are using. There should be an option for window managers on the login screen. Try selecting KDE or Gnome rather than shell.

Login at the command, then type KDE. It should boot from tehre. In KDE you can select a graphical login as well.

ok i figured out that part, now i cant connect to the internet. There is no linux version of my wireless cards driver.

I would reccomend using a different version of linux. Suse has a good graphical interface, making it a lot simpler to fix problems like that.

P.S. Matthew, I got Redhat installed on my web server! We gave up on the version we were trying out on friday.
