Hey guys as the title states, im new with all things computer. I'm looking for a good motherboard that would suit this video card; MSI GTX560 TI Twin Frozr II OC ($251).

I found a motherboard for $281; ASRock Z68- Extreme7-GEN3 Intel Z68/4xDDR3/d-Sub/HDMI/DVI/DP. I don't know wether this video card can be put into this motherboard or not.

If someone could explain to me why certain video cards aren't compatible with certain motherboards that would be awesome.

Thanks, Detzel

P.S If you know of a similar priced setup (or cheaper) thats better, please do tell me because I need all the help I can get!

Ur video card is PCI-EXPRESS. Nowadays motherboard support this type socket video card. There is only two socket video card : AGP & PCI-EXPRESS.

false. Misinfo rather.

There are several video card interfaces used. ISA, PCI, PCI-e, PCI-e x16, AGP, and probably some more out there.

The common ones are AGP, PCI, and PCI-e x16. That motherboard will support any PCI, and PCI-e x1/x4/x8/x16. As long as the socket fits, the video card will be accepted most likely. The PSU will determine if it works.
