im running an xfx 8200 mobo with a athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 5800+ and suposely this mobo comes with a automatic overclocking feature which i have read up alot on and alot of ppl claim it doesnt work and when i try and do it my computer wont put up like the cpu fan comes on and it runs but nothing shows up on the screen so i have to reset the cmos........does anyone have any experience overclocking this board manually??????

It's all the same with AMD boards. Lower HT multy to 6x or 8x , bump up CPU freq from 200 to something higher (in small steps like +10Mhz). Watch for the memory frequency, lower multy for it if needed, don't let DDR2-800 go over 900Mhz and so on. Do not let HT go over 1000Mhz (like 200x5 or 250x4 or 333x3...) and watch temperatures, do not let any one of them go over 60C unless it's GPU
Don't touch voltages in the begining, if you want higher overclock or more stable OC you can bump it just a little (like from 1.25v to 1.3v would be safe in most cases), memory voltage as specd on sticks or just a wee bit more (1.8v memory will work fine with 1.9v)

IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ABOVE DO NOT DO THAT. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR BURNING MOBO AND SMOKING CPU.

Is it black edition? You'll probably have just a liiiittle shorter lifespan with that voltage but it's very nice.

I agree with blackrat on the slightly shorter lifespan, but it can be lengthened to the processors standard life span if you keep the cpu at a pretty tight temp regulation, and make sure if you have energy star settings to turn on the hibernation mode. plus shutting off your computer more often when you leave for work keeps the cpu happy with the voltage for longer periods of time.

its not the black edition its orginally running at 3.0 ghz and i do use hibernation mode and when im done with the computer and go somewhere i always turn it off
