New Video Card purchase

I recently upgraded to what I have, but I found a Nvidia GeForce 7600oc at Compusa and I wanted to see if based on the specs of the machine below I will be able to run BF 2142 decently. Please let me know ASAP. Thanx
 
You should have no problems, but don't expect to play with everything maxed out. I used to play on a 9800PRO and it was smooth on medium details...for the most part. The lag/slowdown I received was either from the server or my PC, but I couldn't test it out since the demo only gave you online play.
 
the 7600 should play it fairly well, but your CPU is going to be a severe bottleneck. With the P4 2.4, don't expect to play at 1280x1024 at anything higher then low/medium settings.

BTW, how much does the 7600 cost you?
 
I would think that the RAM in that set-up would be the biggest bottleneck once that card is upgraded. If you get that up to at least a gig, then it should be ok..., not great, but ok.

I'd say the CPU is a much bigger bottleneck then the RAM is. He's going to need to play at low/medium setting anyways, so the game isn't going to be as demanding in terms of RAM usage.
 
I think he needs to make a new build.
2.4GHz CPU will not run any new game at high setting. Also, 512MB ram is not enough for most of new games.
