New video card

I'm taking out my old 8600GT and putting in a new 8800GT. Would I need to install new drivers? On the NVidia website, all of the driver downloads are by the GPU series and since they're in the same series I would be able to just switch the cards right?

You should check and see if you will need new drivers, nvidia and who ever manufactures your card.

Okay well in that case I need to know in what order to change everything. So I'm taking out an 8600 and putting in an 8800. I'll go for a clean install of the 8800 driver. Do I remove 8600, uninstall driver, add 8800, install new driver?

I would uninstall driver, install 8800, install new driver...

I would have the new one ready to go on the desktop so when you reboot all you have to do is double click.
