New Video Card

It's pretty simple really buy any video card with a DVI output. If you have a PCI-E slot get a PCI-E card. If you have an AGP slot get an AGP card. If you have a PCI slot get a PCI card. The only other thing you will want to be sure of is that you have a at least a 250 watt PSU in your computer or you may run into problems.

if you're not going to be a huge gamer the EVGA GeForce 8500 GT will do the job it has S-Video DVI and VGA outputs
(It's a PCIe Card so if you don't have that don't get this)

I honestly don't know if its AGP or not. Okay, so now I have a couple of questions if someone could answer or direct me to a website that explains it. But what is the difference between Intergrated graphics, how it affects watching movies, etc. (non-gaming). And maybe a website that explains more.

Also, does any1 know of any Graphics Cards that would fit in my PC for around 30-40 dollars that is a good deal and a decent card, w/ dvi output.

BTW thanks for the info guys you're great!

Well, first we need to know what Slots your mother board has as lawson said earlier
Without that it would be pretty hard to help

Well once you can get us some info on the mobo, it would help a lot...

Here are some options, These are around the prices you will have to pay...
If you have an AGP slot x4/x8 works with both...

If you have a PCI Slot:8400GS, would be greatfor what you need, great card

If you have a PCI express1.1/2.0 either one.

When this comes back into selling get this one if possible...XFX 8400GS, best in its class overclocking and stock, and it is 10$ cheaper...

That compaq has an AGP slot, so your pretty much out of luck for any newer cards. AGP is only on the older cards, I think the newest one out is a ATI 3650, but they are over $80.

link to your computer specs.

In your set price range you could get a
ASUS AH3450/HTP/256M Radeon HD 3450 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card - Retail

It has 1 DVI output. Just do not expect to do any serious gaming with that card. But it will be light years faster than your original card.

No, the fastest AGP card is the ATi HD 3850.

Someone informed me: "That's a really weak PSU.
That case needs cleaning badly, buy some face masks, canned air & have the vacuum or shop vac handy near by to suck up the floating particulate matter in the air.... preferably use them to suck up most of the loose crap, then use the canned air... all while staying outside in an open air environment or the garage or somewhere more open.

PSU is also in need of some upgrading. I wouldn't go with anything less than a 300-350W at least on that thing. good quality PSU, & at least a good 16-18 Amps on the +12V Rail. maybe more depending on the AGP card you get."

so what would be a good product, would any PSU fit?

Also, what would be a good graphics card and PSU?
