New Video Card

Ok, I'm looking for a new video card for my computer. The computer is going to be a heavy gaming computer so i need a good card. I plan on running SLI with it later, so its needs to be SLI ready. It needs to be PCI-E card. I'm looking for it to be about $200 for one card. What else should i be looking for when I pick it out? (i do not favor ATI or nVidia)

This is probably one of the best cards for $200 using DX 9 technology.

Here is a DX 10 card. Same price, but includes DX 10 technology.

If you want SLI, you will have to go with Nvidia. Now, you could go with CrossFire frome ATI(Similar to SLI), but in my experience, it has been more expensive.

How well would that card handle high end games (on max settings)? Low lag/Lagless?

I'm not so sure my monitor will plug into that....

Don't worry about the input cord. The video card will come with an adapter to go from DVI to VGA input.

So, for under $200, for a gaming computer, that would probably be my best choice?

Probably a stupid question, but still, Would that support oblivion, being there such a small list of supported cards?

Small list of supported cards? I've never seen a game only supporting certain cards. I've played oblivion on multiple computers without seeing this "list of supported cards"

In my opinion, that would probably be your best bet. And if you ever wanted to, you can upgrade to Vista and have DX 10 graphics since that card supports DX 10 :D

You're probably just looking on the box, where it might say something like "Supported cards: nVidia 7 series, 8 series" Or something.

I've heard that too, i think it's supposed to be able to play games at DX10 level, but not at super high res like the 8800's......that's my theory.;)

I think getting a great DX9 card over a not so good DX10 card would be better, especially if you don't have Vista, If you're on XP you can't use DX10, so there'd be no point...

All I'm saying is it would be nice to already have a DX 10 card if you switch to Vista, then you won't have to upgrade a year later and pay another $200.

It's his choice, and only my opinion :)
