Newb Question about wireless

My parents decided to purchase a computer for my kids when they are at their home to play games via the internet on. I set up a wireless network a while back for them as they have 2 laptops. Instead of purchasing a new computer, a friend of theirs gave them an older Dell Dimension 3000.

Its specs are:

Pent. 4-- 2.3 (working off memory)
512 mb ram
Running windows xp pro

My question is, if they purchase a wireless usb adapter to access their network, will it work on xp? It has been so long since I have had any computer running xp that I dont recall if there are built in drivers for wireless or not.


Any suggestions on type of USB wireless adapter if it will work?
 
Yes, the wireless USB adapter will work perfectly fine with XP. Basically all adapters come with a CD that has the XP driver on it.
 
However, if the pc is a fair distance away from the router or on a different level of the house, it may not get good signal.
