Newbe ? Plz

I have a older dell dimension E521 and i want to up grade it slowly when i can i want to get a new/better motherboard so i can install more fans and ram and expand to a better cpu later. What can i do before i have to buy a new OS? or would it be worth upgrading?

Not worth upgrading. The case itself is BTX as well as the motherboard (most motherboards are ATX) so you're best off just building a new system with all new parts.
