Newbie advice please

Hello to all and thanks for reading this .I have an Acer aspire laptop 1300 and have bought a vga to s video connector to view movies on my rear projection telly however the image is very blurred and the colours mixed ie purple instead of blue and no reds can anyone shed light on what the problem could be any advice is welcome thanks in advance

You resolution is set incorrectly..
Set the computer to the lowest setting and the Projectino TV to the highest. This will help a little, but there still will be some blurryness.
