Well, so theres a chance my motherboard may just need the BIOS updated. Could someone please explain to a newbie how I would go about updating that and where I could get the update?

I would start off by asking if your computer is a pre-built from HP, Dell, etc. Because if it is, chances are the motherboard manufacturer wont have the BIOS update, only the computer manufacturer would.
